Prescriptions
How Do I Order My Repeat Prescription?
- Online – Using our prescription requests triage.
- Using our online services – SystmOnline. If you are not registered for online services and you would like to register, please complete our Register For Online Services Form.
- Requesting a repeat prescription through your local pharmacy order and collect service.
- In person or by post – Please visit our Contact Us Page.
We do not take prescription requests over the telephone for safety reasons.
Please leave your request for a repeat prescription at reception or post it to the surgery. Tick the items you need on the right-hand section of your previous prescription form. Your prescription will be ready for collection 48 hours later.
If you prefer, we can post it back to you (you will need to provide a stamped, addressed envelope) or register for our web based repeat prescription ordering services.
We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. When you are due for a medication review, your prescription will be stamped asking you to make an appointment before you need any further prescriptions.
Medicines Order Line (MOL)
Medicine Order Line (MOL) Leaflet (PDF)
There is a central team called the NHS Prescription Medicines Order Line (MOL) and you can order your repeat prescription through a quick and simple telephone call to 01246 588860, 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
To save you waiting in a phone queue MOLS have introduced a call back system where patients can email a request for a call back from a MOL operative.
Patients can find information on how to email a request for a call back by visiting their website at www.derbyandderbyshireccg.nhs.uk.
In the email itself please follow this procedure and state:
- The name of their GP practice
- Their name
- Their date of birth
- Their contact telephone number
- Press send
Please note that no responses will be provided via email as the purpose of email is to request a call back only. They expect to be able to call patients back within 48 hours (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) but that may vary according to the volume of enquiries they are processing. They will attempt to call patients back three times only.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is a NHS service that allows us to send your prescription(s) directly to your chosen pharmacy. This paper-free prescription service means that you do not have to come into the surgery to collect your prescription. We encourage all patients to register for this free service. Please use our Electronic Prescription Service form to register.
